    “This book was so much more about trust, communication,fears and childhood trauma. I am so glad the author took the opportunity to address colorism. It is such a sad situation that still exists in our society. I have a dark-skinned granddaughter who has dealt with this since the age of 2. It's heartbreaking but we continue to pour into her letting her know how beautiful she is. I am looking forward to the next book”

  • Really Good Read (4 stars)

    Mescia girl thank goodness you didn't let those insecurities hinder you from stepping out on faith and taking a chance on an amazing guy...I knew Alex was something special. From the get go he has that BDE...I really want to see where they go because I like Mescia and Alex together. This my first read from this author and I'm excited about what's next.

  • Okay, come through, Tia Love! (4 stars)

    I came across this book through an FB ad. It is my first read by this author, and this book is SO GOOD. Story was so well-written, and the characters sucked me in from the beginning. I love a good office romance, and this one is top-tier; Love has a natural story-telling style, and she brought the heat with Brandon, baby.

  • Whew! (5 stars)

    When I tell you both of these leads made me want to smack them silly. They had such a great relationship and miscommunication, not being on the same page and a host of other things had them making some really bad decisions. I was scared they wouldn’t make it but thankfully they got their sugar honey iced tea together. Also that office scene had me clutching my pearls. I really enjoyed book two and can’t wait to read more of this author’s catalog. I’m also hoping for a story on Tim and Natalia. Really good read.

  • Happy MF New Year (5 stars)

    What a sweet way to end 2021. I really enjoyed the way Tia once again has brought the reality and nuance of Black Life to her readers. The way she finessed these characters and made me feel like I knew them?! Be warned (bc y'all don't read warnings) this book has graphic themes, but she handles them worth maturity and as someone who can relate, it was nice to see my reality reflected in such a caring and true way. Thank you for this gem.

    The story was extra short, yet it was a good read, an enjoyable romantic time. Sometimes it doesn't take years to make a connection. And other times, time isn't the real factor. A good story.
